Welcome to this edition of the Township of Frelinghuysen online Newsletter.

The "New" Township Recycling Program
 
September 4, 2009

 
The recycling center is only open SATURDAYS from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
 
The following is a list of acceptable items for recycling.  In order for the township to provide this service to you, we request that you follow the guidelines as written.  If people continue to disregard the list the program will be discontinued.

MATERIALS ACCEPTED:
Aluminum food and beverage containers, pie tins, aluminum foil
Glass food and beverage containers - Brown, Clear or Green
Ferrous (Iron) Cans and empty Aerosol Cans
PET plastic containers with the symbol #1 - screw top containers (NO CAPS)
HDPE natural plastic containers with the symbol #2 - narrow neck containers, NO CAPS(detergent, shampoo bottles, etc)
HDPE natural plastic containers with the symbol #2 - narrow neck containers only (milk and water bottles)
Plastics with the symbols #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 - narrow and screw top containers.
Aseptic and gable top carton such as juice, soy, broth, milk cartons, etc.
Newsprint
Old corrugated cardboard (Flattened)
Magazines
Catalogs
Cereal Boxes (flattened)
Telephone Books
Printer Paper
Copier Paper
Mail
All other paper WITHOUT WAX LINERS!!
 
MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED
 
Microwave trays
Mirrors
Window or auto glass
Light bulbs
Ceramics
Porcelain
Plastics unnumbered, toys etc...
Plastic bags  NO SHOPPING OR GARBAGE BAGS
Coat hangers
Glass cookware/bakeware (no tempered glass)
Household items such as cooking pots, toasters, etc.
Household garbage.
No Batteries.
No paint, no tires, no toxic substances.
 
All Glass containers must be empty and free of metal caps and rings contain less than 5% food debris
All tin cans, bi-metals, and aluminum cans must be empty and contain less than 5% food debris.
All aerosol cans must be empty with less than 5% content.
All plastic containers must be empty, caps removed, less than 5% food debris.
All fiber (paper) must be dry and fee of food debris and other contaminated materials (greasy pizza boxes)
Tissues, paper towels or other paper that has been in contact with food not acceptable.

PVEC Blood Drive
 
September 24, 2009
 

Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, on Route 517 in Allamuchy will be hosting a blood drive with the Miller Keystone bloodmobile from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm on September 24. 

Please call 908-852-5444 or email office@pvem.net to sign up.
