North Warren Regional High School graduating seniors are celebrating the 22nd
year of Project Graduation. This is a drug and alcohol-free event where the
graduates are bused, with chaperones, to and from an undisclosed facility.
On Wednesday, June 17th 191 graduating seniors have the
opportunity to celebrate as a class, one last time. The event begins at 11
pm and we return back at the school at 6 am Thursday morning.
There’s lots of food all night beginning with hor’deurves,
hot and cold buffet, ice cream/dessert table and a continental breakfast
before they leave the facility.
Events for the evening are: A DJ, Inflatable bungee run,
Velcro wall, Twister, Wrecking Ball, and jousting, swimming, basketball,
volleyball, tennis, and dodge ball, caricaturist, temporary tattoos, snap
lab, music videos and a hypnotist show.
Upon arrival back at school at 6 am the graduates are
greeted by their parents and they enjoy another breakfast.
Project Graduation is a free event (we have to keep it
that way so each student has the opportunity of staying safe on their
special night) but we all know that free comes with a price tag….Monies are
raised from donations from local organizations, the community and parents
pay out-of-pocket. When you think of it, it really isn’t fair if every
student attending doesn’t pay…even as much as they can afford. It makes the
parents that are paying uncomfortable to see a student that can afford to
pay attend.
Thank you for your continued support in helping make this event a safe
and fun night for our graduating students.
