Notices from the Town Clerk
At Monday night’s Township Committee meeting the State Police
reported (since 9/1/13) 16 home burglaries in the Hope Barracks coverage
area, with 2 burglaries in Frelinghuysen Township. The home burglaries all
occurred during daylight hours, all were break-ins of locked homes, and none
of the residents were home during the incidents. We were informed that the
police are looking for a white van and/or a black car (they were not more
specific than that).
In the event that you see any suspicious vehicles, you should call the State
Police at 908-459-5000 or 908-459-5098, and provide make, model and tag
number if possible. A resident already reported a suspicious vehicle (which
seemed to be casing homes), provided the make, model and tag number, which
information was provided to the State Police. We were informed that the
State Police will be increasing patrols in the area, including unmarked
Mott Road will be closed on Monday, November 25th for road
paving. Only local traffic will be able to travel the road.
We have had a few inquiries regarding the ball field at Town
Hall, the gray material on ball fields is lime.
