Click here to meet our Township Committee

Welcome to the Frelinghuysen Community website. This site is intended to provide you, the residents, a sense of community. We would like to illustrate how the website can connect you to the inner workings of the Township.

It is our vision to create a virtual Town Hall to accommodate the needs of our busy residents whose schedules cannot be accommodated by our Town Hall’s hours of operation. It is our goal to provide as many services online as possible to meet community needs.

You are able to utilize our Township’s website, www.frelinghuysen-nj.us for many of the activities you would ordinarily have to make a special trip to accomplish.  For example you may apply for a dog license, register to vote, look up tax information, and find out when the next town wide cleanup will be. You are also given access to the minutes of every meeting and you are able to give your input online.

As always, whatever we as a committee do should have the following goals and principles:

First and foremost, anything we do must make economic sense. As a community we all have limited financial resources and it is irresponsible for us to waste your hard earned dollars. Our Township has had the slowest rate of tax increase in Warren County and we have enjoyed that honor for the last five years.

Second, we must preserve our heritage as an agricultural community, along with our many precious resources.  We must as a community, find ways to provide opportunities for farmers who wish to continue in a lifestyle that benefits us all.

Third, the Township has an obligation to provide public safety by protecting both you and your children, along with your personal property. Our goal is to provide safety from the exposure to drugs and violence and give you the feeling of safety to live comfortably in our community.

A fourth and guiding principal shows respect for our seniors.  We must continue to support them by making our community affordable, as they provide the foundation that we have built on.

And last but not least we support local education. To compete in the world of tomorrow, we must provide our children with the educational opportunities that will allow them to excel. The Frelinghuysen Elementary School has consistently placed in the top ten percent, not only in the County but also in the State.

With your input we can build a better community for today and tomorrow!
